What is heel pain?
Heel pain is one of the most reasons why someone would make an appointment with a podiatrist. There can be a variety of reasons why someone is experiencing heel pain, but one of the most common reasons is inflammation on the bottom of the affected foot. What is Plantar Fasciitis?
Plantar Fascitis is a common cause of heel pain and this is a foot condition caused when there’s an inflammation of the tissue that runs from the toes, over the arch, and to the heel bone. Common symptoms include a stabbing pain when you take the first couple of steps in the morning or when you walk after sitting or standing for an extended amount of time.
What are your treatment options?
Some treatment options include wearing shoes with greater support, wearing custom shoe inserts, using ice packs, or taking anti-inflammatory medication.
